If the District Ten Team, as the “Keepers of the Lighthouse," engage in collaborative cycles of inquiry and action informed by district data, and engage school leaders in the same process by looking at school wide data, and teachers engage in the same process by examining student level data, then we will build coherence across our district by harnessing the collective capacity of all “keepers of the lighthouse” to make informed and strategic decisions from relevant data that positively impact student achievement and progress.

Skin in the Game (SIG) is an innovative Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, and Math (STREAM) based initiative that will impact 30 mathematics, literacy, science and visual arts teachers and 1100 students, grades 4 through 10, over a 3-year period.
Under the guidance of Executive Superintendent Meisha Ross-Porter, CSD10 partners with The Bronx Borough Center to provide instructional and compliance support to our schools with an emphasis on English Language Learners. The Bronx Borough Center provides professional development with topics associated with language acquisition, academic language and vocabulary, compliance, and programming students, among others.
Through the Center for Educational Partnerships, CBO's support CSD10 by implementing the Community Schools model, designed to provide a comprehensive academic and social-emotional approach for school communities.
The mission of the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project is to help young people become avid and skilled readers, writers, and inquirers. We accomplish this goal through research, curriculum development, and through working shoulder-to-shoulder with students, teachers, and school leaders. The organization has developed state-of-the-art tools and methods for teaching reading and writing, for using performance assessments and learning progressions to accelerate progress, and for literacy-rich content-area instruction.
Teaching Artist Project is a comprehensive training and internship program designed to prepare practicing artists to bring their craft to the classroom. The program entails a rigorous, 8-month curriculum, rich in social justice-based pedagogy that also provides supervised on-the-job experience. The program is a division of Community-Word Project (CWP), a New York City based 501(c)(3) arts-in-education organization that inspires children in underserved communities to read, interpret, and respond to their world and to become active citizens through collaborative arts residencies and teacher training programs.

NTC is dedicated to improving student learning by accelerating the effectiveness of teachers and school leaders. We build capacity within districts and district partners to drive student learning, teacher effectiveness, and teacher and leadership development. We do this by providing PreK-12 teachers and school leaders with the skills and supports needed to create optimal learning environments that accelerate students’ academic and social emotional success.
